Disney imposes a ban on selfie | No Selfies When In Disneyland!

Planning a trip to Disneyland or Disney World? Leave your selfie stick behind or you may miss your only chance to meet your favourite Disney character! This comes as Disney imposes a ban on selfie stick citing that the stick can be hazardous and/or may cause nuisance to the other visitors.

Disney, early this year, had banned selfie sticks on the rides but with this provision enacted, the ban only extends to encompass the entire park. "We strive to provide a great experience for the entire family, and unfortunately selfie sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast," said the spokesperson of Disneyland Resort, Suzi Brown. Just this week, a roller-coaster at Disney California Adventures Park was shut after a passenger pulled out a selfie stick!

Selfie sticks were previously banned by number of football clubs, the National Gallery, and the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in Wimbledon. Apple too banned the use of these sticks at its WWDC developer's conference that took place early this month.

The ban will be implemented with effect from today. So if you are visiting Disneyland anytime soon, do not carry your selfie stick or you may have to leave it in the lockers at the park's entrance!
